ORIBIX respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.oribix.co.za, why we collect it and how we protect it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
ORIBIX is a brand of BAFRICA Trading (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/459271/07 (“we”, “us”). Registered office: 1064 Sagewood Manor, Noordwyk, Midrand, Gauteng, 1687, South Africa. For any privacy question or request, contact our Information Officer at hi@oribix.co.za.
2. What we collect
- Warranty registration: your name, email address, mobile number (optional), the product and colour, where you bought it, your order number and purchase date.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or WhatsApp, including photos or videos for a warranty claim.
- Technical information: our hosting provider automatically records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the website secure and running.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
3. Why we use it
- To register and manage your warranty and handle any claims.
- To reply to your questions and support requests.
- To send you news about new products and offers, only if you have opted in. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To meet our legal obligations and protect our rights.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We only share it with:
- Service providers who help us run the website, store form submissions and send emails, under agreements that require them to protect your information.
- Takealot or Amazon, where needed to verify an order for a warranty claim.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
5. Cross-border transfers
Some of our service providers (for example our website host and form storage) may store information on servers outside South Africa. When this happens, we make sure the provider is subject to data protection laws or agreements that give your information a level of protection similar to POPIA.
6. How long we keep it
We keep warranty information for the warranty period plus up to 24 months, so we can handle claims and keep accurate records. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. After that, we delete or anonymise the information.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access limited to the people who need it.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, give you access to it, correct or delete it, or stop using it for direct marketing. Email hi@oribix.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) via inforegulator.org.za.
9. Children
This website is not aimed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
